Nominations for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, hosted by BestBuy Maldives (BBM), are now officially open, according to Hotelier Maldives. This important event, which is scheduled for May 2025, builds on the success of its initial edition in April 2024. Four new categories will be added to the 2019 awards, expanding the recognition of exceptional professionals that significantly impact the Maldives’ tourism and hospitality industries.
The Hotelier Maldives Awards were established in 2024 with the goal of recognizing outstanding people who have excelled and dedicated themselves to their respective industries. Over 300 nominees and 100,000 public votes were submitted for the first awards, demonstrating the event’s importance in the industry. The 2025 awards, which are presented by BestBuy Maldives (BBM), will carry on this tradition by honoring 2024’s top performers.
Four new categories have been added to the awards for the 2025 edition:
- Watersports Personality of the Year
- Diving Personality of the Year
- Airport Representative of the Year
- Resort Manager of the Year
By increasing the current categories, these new ones guarantee a thorough celebration of the various skills propelling the Maldives’ tourism boom.
Team members can be nominated for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025 from any hotel or resort in the Maldives. Through a specific online form, hotel representatives can make nominations on behalf of their colleagues. Prior to submission, Hotelier Maldives advises that nominations be authorized by the general manager’s office, the HR, PR, and marketing departments.
- One nominee per category may be chosen by each hotel or resort.
- Since the awards are intended to recognize outstanding performance in 2024, nominations should emphasize accomplishments from the previous 12 months.
- The official nomination form must be used to submit all nominations online. We won’t accept submissions in other formats.
The deadline for nominations is 31st January 2025. Resorts are urged to suggest worthy colleagues as soon as possible, since late applications will not be taken into consideration.
Following receipt of the nominations, Hotelier Maldives will create a shortlist of qualified applicants who satisfy the requirements for submission. An impartial team of judges will review this list and any supporting documentation. Among the steps in the judging process are:
- The panel evaluates the accomplishments of the nominees.
- Finalists are announced online, and then there is a public voting process.
- Winners are chosen using a total score of 40% of public votes and 60% of judges’ ratings.
In May 2025, the winners will be announced at a lavish ceremony.
