Representing the Maldives at the recent 2024 Tropical Coastal City Tourism Event in Sanya, Hainan, China, on September 4th 2024 – September 5th 2024, was the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives). This esteemed occasion was organized by the Sanya Tourism Board and the Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio, TV, and Sports of Sanya City, with cooperation from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
Mr. Ibrahim Shiuree, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD), and Mr. Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz, Chairperson of the MMPRC, were part of the Maldives delegation attending this occasion. During the Thematic Sharing segment of the event, the Chairperson gave a riveting speech on “The Maldives Story & Innovative Tourism Marketing for Tropical Cities”. He discussed the distinctive features that set the Maldives apart as a vacation destination and the creative marketing techniques MMPRC uses to advertise the tropical getaway.
Shiuree, the CEO and MD, participated in the panel discussion “Insight Sessions: International Tourism Marketing” as one of the experts. In order to guarantee the fair distribution of tourist earnings throughout the country, he covered important subjects such as public-private cooperation, the significance of upskilling tourism employees, and the diversification of the Maldives’ tourism offering.
