At OTM Mumbai 2025, the premier tourism trade event in India and Asia, the Sunny Side of Life was featured by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) in collaboration with 38 industry partners. The event was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai from 30th January 2025 to 1st February 2025.
One of the biggest worldwide conferences for experts and buyers in the travel industry is OTM, which takes place in India. Industry partners had a great opportunity to share the most recent details about their goods and services at the event. By showcasing the most recent Maldivian travel news and our distinctive tourism offerings, services, and experiences, participation at OTM facilitated communication with the Indian travel industry. MMPRC sought to increase the Maldives’ market share in India during OTM Mumbai 2025. In collaboration with our industry partners, MMPRC promoted the Maldives as the top short-haul travel destination for Indian tourists of all stripes.
Media interviews, discussions with important travel industry executives and other partners, and other events were among the many activities that took place at the Maldives stand at OTM Mumbai 2025. The event’s Maldives Stand showcased the destination’s stunning vistas and variety of experiences.
With 130,805 arrivals, or 6.4% of the total market share, India ranked as the sixth-largest source market for the Maldives last year. MMPRC regularly carries out a range of marketing initiatives aimed at the Indian market. The Discover Maldives Webinar 2024, PR Activities, OTM 2024, SATTE 2024, Influencer familiarization tours, Explore Maldives Roadshow (with Manta Air), Welcome India Roadshow, Campaign with Globalspa (India), and Maldives India Networking Event are among the events that will take place in 2024. In order to boost arrivals and sustain destination momentum in the Indian market, 2025 plans call for a variety of year-round activities, including familiarization trips, media interviews, ad campaigns, TV and online programs, participation in major fairs and exhibitions, and digital and social media campaigns. The goal of these marketing campaigns is to further establish the Maldives as India’s top vacation destination.
