The one millionth tourist of 2024 was received by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives). On 27th June 2024 at 11:15 am, Thai national Sutapa Amornvivat arrived in the Maldives via AirAsia aircraft FD 175. She travelled to the Niyama Maldives with her family for a break and is visiting the Maldives for the third time after her honeymoon.
In order to commemorate this significant milestone at Velana International Airport, Visit Maldives organised a very special event in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism. Other government agencies, including the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Maldives Immigration, and Maldives Customs Service, as well as numerous industry stakeholders, also attended.
