Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) declared its involvement in the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), the country’s largest travel event, which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 22nd March 2024 to 24th March 2024. In addition to representatives from 13 Maldivian tourist firms, MMPRC will offer the Maldives as the top vacation spot for Malaysian and Southeast Asian travellers.
Potential tourists can choose from a variety of interesting and reasonably priced travel choices offered by MATTA. In keeping with their plans to bolster the Maldives brand and destination visibility, MMPRC wants to interact with important market partners to increase the Maldives tourist industry’s influence. Furthermore, MMPRC’s involvement in MATTA offers substantial chances to advertise halal travel, specifically aimed at this market’s travellers.
During these three days, MMPRC highlighted the rich culture and traditions. The Maldives booth had interesting activities together with cultural aspects of the location. A breathtaking cultural show that immerses guests in genuine Maldivian workmanship was showcased. The cultural display at the booth also highlighted the history, traditions, and customs, giving visitors a direct look at the core of Maldivian culture. An amazing Christmas gift supported by Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi and Adaaran Club Rannalhi was the focal point of the presentation.
Throughout the event, MMPRC promoted new goods, segments, and offers while giving attendees up-to-date information on the Maldives. Industry partners had several possibilities during the event to showcase their distinctive goods and services. In addition, being a part of MATTA 2024 gave them a great opportunity to network with professionals in the field, establish new alliances, and learn insightful things about how the travel industry is changing. All of these things help them maintain their position as the region’s top vacation destination.
The Maldives might benefit greatly from the Malaysian market. With a noteworthy 13,551 arrivals, it placed 26th as a source market the year before. The Maldives has 3,063 visitors from Southeast Asia as of March 2024. In order to sell and further promote the destination, MMPRC has scheduled a number of marketing initiatives in this region. To boost arrivals and sustain destination momentum in the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets, a variety of activities, including training programs, outdoor marketing, participation in key fairs, roadshows, exhibits, and digital and social media campaigns, are scheduled to take place during 2024.
