The ‘I AM Maldives Roadshow’ will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Baku, Azerbaijan, from 17th December 2024 – 20th December 2024, according to the National Hotels and Guest House Association of the Maldives (NHGAM), in partnership with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO). The goal of this roadshow is to boost the Maldives’ market presence in these areas and raise awareness of the destination.
There are eighteen Maldivian co-exhibitors (resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and travel agencies) at this important B2B event. In addition to showcasing their properties and services to prospective partners and clients, participants will build direct relationships with professionals in the travel industry, help increase the number of tourists visiting the Maldives from these regions, and acquire important knowledge about consumer preferences and market trends in both nations.
“The ‘I AM Maldives Roadshow’ represents a significant milestone in our efforts to promote local island tourism in emerging markets. Azerbaijan and Georgia present exciting opportunities for our local island tourism sector. Through this initiative, we aim to connect our guesthouse operators and local tourism businesses with these promising markets, creating sustainable growth opportunities for our members,” said Abdulla Nasheed, President of NHGAM.
A destination presentation from Visit Maldives, airline presentations showcasing connectivity from both cities to the Maldives, information on local island tourist products and opportunities, and updates from the travel agents will all be included in the roadshow. During the roadshow, there will also be 40 thrilling raffle draws, with 18 industry partners sponsoring the lucky winners to receive holiday packages.
Through collaborations with important stakeholders in Georgia and Azerbaijan, NHGAM and its partners hope to strengthen ties within this region as final preparations for this roadshow get underway.
“Azerbaijan and Georgia are emerging as important markets for the Maldives. This roadshow is a strategic step to further strengthen our presence in these regions and introduce the unique offerings of the Maldives to a wider audience,” said Ibrahim Shiury, CEO and MD of MMPRC/Visit Maldives.
In order to guarantee the Maldives delegation’s cost-effective participation in the roadshow, NHGAM has teamed up with Air Arabia as the official travel partner. In addition, Visit Maldives and AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines) are planning to organize a media and influencer familiarization trip for the Azerbaijan market as a future marketing initiative.
An ambitious schedule of market activities for the upcoming year has been laid up by NHGAM. The first of these efforts is the ‘I AM Maldives Roadshow’ in Georgia and Azerbaijan, which demonstrates NHGAM’s dedication to broadening its market reach and generating long-term economic prospects for its members in developing nations.
