At FITUR 2025, the year’s first significant travel trade show, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and 25 industry partners presented the Maldives’ varied experiences. The dates of this event were 22nd January 2025 – 26th January 2025, in Madrid, Spain.
Professionals in the tourism business as well as inbound and outbound foreign markets in Latin America place a great deal of attention on FITUR, the industry standard event. Attending the event helps build solid relationships with travel agencies from the region’s top markets and enhances the Maldives’ brand recognition in Spain and Europe. Additionally, it offers a plethora of chances to highlight the Maldives’ distinctive experiences, including family vacations, adventure holidays, wellness retreats, romantic retreats, and summer and winter getaways. FITUR 2025, one of Spain’s premier travel and trade shows, provides a major forum for exchanging the most recent information and for specific Maldivian tourism properties to exhibit innovative goods and experiences.
The Maldives represented sustainability, elegance, romance, adventure, and cultural tourism at FITUR 2025. In order to obtain the most recent information on the Maldives, guests interacted with the Maldivian travel trade partners during the event. Interactive activities also took center stage at the stand, such as making personalized calligraphy bookmarks, taking pictures with libaas and feyli props, and tasting local cuisine. Using images and movies displayed on LED screens, the entire stand depicted the variety of Maldivian experiences. Additionally, Ithaa Holidays Maldives hosted raffle drawings at the Maldives’ booth during FITUR 2025 to give away free Maldivian vacations.
With 47,835 visitors overall, Spain ranked in the top 10 countries in the world for arrivals to the Maldives in 2024. With a number of events scheduled, MMPRC is keeping up the momentum from the previous year in its efforts to promote the Maldives in this market.
