The Explore Maldives roadshow, which took place at the esteemed Shangri-La Bengaluru on June 26, 2024, ended quite successfully, thanks to Visit Maldives and Manta Air in collaboration with important resort/guest house partners. The roadshow offered great networking possibilities between the partner resorts/guest houses and the leaders of India’s travel industry, with the goal of rekindling Indian travelers’ interests and drawing in more Indian tourists.
Participation was through the roof, with over 130 agents and media present. Major Maldivian hospitality chains, encompassing all resort and guest house categories, as well as DMCs, travel agents, tour operators, and MICE trip organizers from India attending the event. Leaders in the Indian travel industry, such as the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) – Karnataka Chapter and the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) – Karnataka Chapter, participated, providing much-needed fuel to rekindle Indian travelers’ interest in the Maldives as a top vacation destination.
The Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC) Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Zihuny Rasheed, opened the full-day event. Key resort partners then gave presentations, and there were several networking opportunities that gave the partner resorts/guest houses a great chance to interact with the travel agents and tour operators in attendance. Numerous raffles and gifts supplied by the prestigious resort partners exclusively for the occasion were part of the magnificent event that was hosted with amazing support from the partners.
Along with Colors of OBLU, Sun Siyam Resorts, Villa Hotels & Resorts, PULSE Hotels & Resorts, AAA Hotels & Resorts, Angsana Velavaru, COMO, RIU Hotels & Resorts, South Palm, and many more resorts and guest houses as well as local travel agents, the roadshow featured prominent resort chains like Universal Resorts, Minor Hotels with NH Collection & AVANI+, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, and many others.
An important step toward fortifying the tourism relationship between India and the Maldives is the roadshow.
