In a major move toward promoting domestic travel, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) had its inaugural board meeting of 2025 in Aa. Ukulhas.
Ibrahim Shiuree, the managing director of MMPRC, Abdullah Ghiyas Riyaz, the chairman, and the board of directors of the company presided over the meeting. The Ukulhas Council greeted them warmly upon their arrival, demonstrating the community’s excitement in hosting such an occasion.
MMPRC members intended to interact with the island’s council and important local tourist stakeholders while on the visit. These talks, according to MMPRC, were intended to examine prospects and problems in Ukulhas’s booming tourism industry, which had made a name for itself as a major hub for Maldivian local travel.
The meeting, according to Managing Director Shiuree, was an example of MMPRC’s commitment to local tourism, which is a key component of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s Maldives vision. He emphasized that in order to advance the tourist sector, cooperation with stakeholders at all levels is crucial.
By holding its board meeting at Ukulhas, MMPRC, the state-owned organization in charge of promoting the Maldives as a top travel destination, demonstrated its support for the local travel industry. By choosing this island, the company reiterated its dedication to grassroots cooperation and emphasized Ukulhas’s crucial position in the industry.
It is anticipated that this strategic approach would increase the Maldives’ appeal to tourists worldwide while encouraging inclusive growth that benefits the communities that are essential to the sector.
