Together, Villa College and Universal Foundation are offering 10 scholarships to students enrolling in the September 2024 Certificate III in Culinary Arts program. President Iyaz Waheed of the Universal Foundation and Vice Rector Dr. Ali Najeeb of Villa College signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizing their relationship.
Ten students will get full sponsorship from Universal Foundation to enroll in the culinary program under the conditions of the agreement. The foundation and Villa College will also work together to publicize and raise awareness of the program.
“We are thrilled to support the first batch of culinary students at Villa College,” said Iyaz Waheed. “Culinary arts is a field that has a significant gap in local talent in the Maldives, and we hope to contribute to developing future culinary professionals.”
The Universal Foundation has been actively involved in a number of community service and human development initiatives in the Maldives, with primary funding from Universal Enterprises and Universal Resorts. The foundation collaborates with governmental and non-governmental entities to enhance prospects for the people of the Maldives. In the days ahead, Villa College will offer more information regarding the requirements for qualifying and the scholarship application procedure. Splendid Asia and MadlyMaldives look forward to the positive changes this partnership will bring.
