At the ADEX Ocean Mission 2024, the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) and six industry partners showcased the stunning underwater landscapes of the Maldives to the South East Asia (SEA) market. This event took place at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Center between 12th April 2024 and 14th April 2024.
ADEX, the largest and most established diving expo in Asia, has been a part of the industry’s “must-attend” events for 26 years. ADEX brings together esteemed lecturers and VIPs from across the world, including underwater photographers, marine conservationists, biologists, videographers, and many more. Additionally, it offers a venue for a range of exhibitors, including national tourist boards of several nations, diving operators, and equipment manufacturers.
MMPRC made use of ADEX Ocean Mission 2024 to teach prospective tourists about the most recent travel information and raise awareness of the Maldives as a top diving destination. In order to best promote and draw tourists from this segment to the Maldives, the fair was also a perfect place to gather market intelligence targeted for a niche segment through observations and to comprehend the opinions of divers and dive enthusiasts from the Asian and South East Asian markets. We took part in this event as part of our efforts to highlight the Maldives as the top tourism destination in Southeast Asia, particularly for Singaporeans, and to exhibit the diving and underwater experiences that the Maldives has to offer at the biggest dive exhibition in the SEA market.
A customer survey, educational flash cards regarding Maldivian marine life, and artworks showing the many diving sites in the Maldives were among the events held at the Visit Maldives table.
At the end of last year, there were 58,947 visitors to this market. 7,481 visitors from the Southeast Asian market visited the Maldives in January and February of this year. MMPRC has a number of events scheduled that are aimed at this market in an effort to retain destination presence and boost traveler numbers. Joint marketing efforts with significant stakeholders, outdoor advertising campaigns, fair participation, webinar hosting, e-learning initiatives, and other events are some examples of these activities.
